Closed Rogue. Closed Warlock. Closed Warrior. Forums » Priest ». Page 1. Brace yourselves, here comes a lot of math. All of these stats are very important and none should be overlooked. So the next time you are deciding between a piece of gear that has mp5 and one that has spirit, keep these formulas in mind. Mana regeneration ticks every 2 seconds. So mp5 needs to be converted to mp2 for it to actually make sense.
Therefore mp5 is much more beneficial. Priest 2. Druid 3. Priests have a better conversion though making spirit slightly better for them than druids in terms of regeneration. This is even more of an incentive to get spirit as a priest. What's this mean? For any class, the first 50 spirit gives 0. After that, each spirit is 0. In spirit to get 1 mana per tick, this works out to be 4 spirit, 4. I'm the author of RatingBuster, so naturally I started working on the formula the moment test servers went up too.
After seeing the change in the patch notes, I knew I had to get the formula for RatingBuster to work in 2. And there I found that the mana regen file that used to contain the coefficients of the spirit regen formula for different classes, was changed so that its now the same for all classes.
But something else has changed too, the coefficients used to be the same for all levels, it is now different for each level. No where in the files could I find anything about INT, that means there's work to be done on the test server.
I logged on test server sadly my copies are still pending The first thing you do after you see that some thing is linear is to figure out if there are any constants. Pre-process the data to remove SPI and the constant from the function for curve fitting.
Curve fitting. According to past experience, blizzard formulas are relatively simple, the result will not be too complecated, it should be "smooth" in curve fitting terms. Whitetooth , 12 February UTC. Would it be possible for someone to make a calculator for those of us who suck at math.
From what I can tell, the amounts that mp5 changes by when holding one constant and changing the other depends on what that constant is.
For example, using the formula Whitetooth generated, an increase of SPI by 1 will increase mp5 by. For reference, I also found that an increase of INT by 1 will increase mp5 by. Speaking of the spirit formula, I'd say that the term 0, in the equation is a rounding error and therefore irrelevant and should probably be thrown out in light of readability and simplicity.
IE: In a 10 minute fight extra mana gained from that term is less than 1. I agree the graphs are totally out of date, we should also add that sprit is now almost completely useless to warlocks now Skyzod talk , 22 October UTC. Was the move needed? Spirit now is just redirect to this page. What about making Spirit a disambiguation page?
So I have no issues with the formula and amount for regen while not casting. My issue is with the regen while casting.
So what is wrong or broken here? According to these numbers I am losing out on The spirit is working as it should be, meaning you should have a regen of 46 mana per tick it's always rounded down. SCT is probably wrong then, you should check your ticks "manually" ie watch your mana bar. You're a priest btw, right? I doublechecked with my priest just to be sure.
Join the Chaos journey! Confirmed working properly based on the formulas. Yes I am a priest. I realized that I was testing it after I had reset my talents to check base stats and hadn't put my talent points back in yet. Powered by SMF 1.
